Founder Terms of Use
In short
- An investor has asked to verify you. Nothing is checked until you consent.
- You submit your details once, confirm a short consent set, and the results go to that investor. No ID image, selfie or biometric data is ever collected.
- You can see the report about you, comment on it, and ask for corrections.
- From your private report page you can download your data, withdraw consent, or request correction or deletion. If you withdraw, the investor sees the remaining checks as Unavailable.
1. Why you are here
An investor, acquirer or business counterparty has asked evifound to verify information about you and your company as part of their diligence. You received an invitation link by email.
These terms apply to you as a founder or company officer taking part. Evifound operates the platform.
2. Consent comes first
No checks run about you until you give explicit consent. The consent screen tells you who asked for the verification, which sources are used, what the investor will see, how long we keep data, your rights and how to contact us. If you decline, or simply do not proceed, we do not screen you: we record only that you declined, keep the invitation record so the investor can see the outcome, and delete it under our retention schedule.
When you submit the form you confirm a versioned consent set (currently version 2026-09-20). Each item is stored with the server time, the version and exact wording you saw, and a hashed technical record of the session. Continuing from the introductory notice to the form does not itself record consent:
- Accuracy — the information and documents you provide are true, accurate and complete, and you have the right to share them.
- Screening, professional and company research — explicit consent to checks against public, official and licensed sources, including sanctions, watchlist, politically-exposed-person, adverse-media, criminal-record where lawful, regulatory, bankruptcy and insolvency registers; public professional and social profiles; education, employment and certifications; company identity, standing, addresses, officers and directorships; professional history; patents, trademarks, publications, press, claims and references. Results are shared with the requesting investor and their authorised confidential recipients. Prohibited or unsupported checks are shown as Unavailable.
- International processing — your information may be processed in the European Union, the United Kingdom and North America under recognised transfer safeguards.
- Automated processing, data handling and rights — automated tools may extract claims, match records, analyse public social signals, draft summaries and produce founder-market-fit analysis, but do not make an investment decision or score. Your data is used only for this verification, is never sold, never used for marketing or to train general-purpose AI models, and is shared only as described here; you may seek human review and exercise the rights in section 7.
- Referees informed (only if you name a referee) — you have told them we may contact them and record their response for the verification.
3. What you provide
You complete a short form covering your legal name and any other names you use, date of birth, nationality, country of residence, contact email, your company's legal name and incorporation details, professional links, an optional résumé or supporting documents, and references. We do not request identity-document details or a residential address.
You agree that:
- the information you give is true, accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge;
- you have the right to provide any document you upload;
- where you name a referee, you have told them to expect contact from us.
⚠ Knowingly submitting false information or altered supporting documents may be a criminal offence and will be reported as a flag on the report.
4. What is checked
The categories and method are set out in the Verification Methodology and Source Notice. In summary: sanctions, watchlist, PEP, adverse-media, criminal and insolvency screening where lawful; company existence, officers and directorships; regulatory enforcement; patents, trademarks and publications; press and public profiles; and references.
5. What the investor sees
The investor who requested the verification sees an Evidence Ledger: one line per check, with a label, a source and a date, plus the information you submitted. They may share it with their investment committee, advisers and co-investors on the same opportunity, under confidentiality.
We do not sell your data and we do not use it to market to you.
We do not see, use, or share your private data — beyond what is strictly necessary to run the verification you requested. No secondary use, no data broking, no marketing to founders, no training of general-purpose AI models. See the Privacy Policy.
6. Your report and your right to respond
You get a private link to the report about you. You can:
- read every line and its source;
- add comments, which notify the investor;
- request a correction under the Accuracy, Correction and Dispute Policy;
- use the built-in tools: Download my data (a copy of everything we hold about you), Withdraw consent, and Request correction or deletion (a tracked request answered within 30 days, with the investor and evifound notified).
We encourage you to respond to any flagged line before the investor acts on it.
7. Your data-protection rights
You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing, and you can complain to your data-protection authority. How to do this, and the lawful bases we rely on, are in the Privacy Policy.
8. Withdrawing consent
You may withdraw consent at any time from your private report page or by emailing info@evifound.com. Withdrawal stops any further checks, marks pending lines as Unavailable and notifies the investor; it does not undo results already completed and delivered. Your verification data is deleted 24 months after withdrawal under our retention schedule, or sooner on request where no legal obligation requires us to keep it.
9. What this is not
The report is evidence, not a judgement about you. It is not a criminal-record certificate, a credit score, or a rating, and it must not be used to decide on your employment, credit, housing or insurance. See No Warranty, Limitations and Proper Use and Not a Consumer Report.
10. Acceptable use
While using the founder portal you must not attempt to disrupt, probe or misuse the platform. See the Acceptable Use Policy.
