Not a Consumer Report
In short
- evifound is not a consumer reporting agency, and its output is not a consumer report.
- Never use evifound output to decide on employment, credit, tenancy, insurance or any other consumer eligibility.
- It is built for investment and business diligence about founders and their companies.
- Using it for a prohibited purpose is a breach of your agreement and may be unlawful.
1. Statement
Evifound is not a consumer reporting agency, credit reference agency, or background-screening provider within the meaning of consumer-protection laws such as the US Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or equivalent regimes elsewhere. Reports produced by evifound are not consumer reports, investigative consumer reports, or credit reports.
We do not assemble information for the purpose of establishing a person's eligibility for consumer credit, insurance, employment, housing or any similar benefit.
2. Prohibited uses
⚠ You must not use evifound output, in whole or in part, as a factor in any decision about:
- employment, hiring, promotion, retention, contracting a worker, or volunteer screening;
- consumer credit, lending or credit limits;
- residential tenancy or housing;
- insurance underwriting, pricing or eligibility;
- education admission or financial aid;
- government licences or benefits;
- any other consumer-eligibility determination governed by consumer-protection law.
3. Investor attestation
Before creating a company record and again before the first verification runs, every subscriber user must attest that the purpose of the verification is investment, acquisition, financing or other business diligence, and that the output will not be used for any of the prohibited purposes above. The attestation is time-stamped and stored against the company record. A false attestation is a material breach of the Platform Service Agreement.
4. Permitted uses
evifound is designed for professional diligence by investors and businesses, including:
- assessing founders and companies in connection with an investment, acquisition or financing;
- verifying claims made in a pitch deck or business plan;
- ongoing monitoring of a portfolio company for governance purposes;
- diligence on a prospective commercial partner, joint venture or supplier.
5. If you need a consumer report
Where your decision is one of the prohibited uses above, obtain a report from a provider that operates as a consumer reporting agency and complies with the applicable regime, including adverse-action notices and dispute procedures.
6. Consequences
Using output for a prohibited purpose breaches the Platform Service Agreement and the Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend or terminate access, and you are responsible for any resulting claims.
