No Warranty, Limitations and Proper Use

Version 1.1 · Effective 14 August 2026

In short

  • evifound produces evidence, not advice, not a score, and not a decision.
  • A "Verified" line means a source supported a claim on the date shown — nothing more.
  • The absence of a record is not proof that nothing exists.
  • You remain responsible for every investment or business decision you make.

1. What evifound output is

An evifound report — the Evidence Ledger and its PDF export — is a structured record of checks run against official registers, public records and founder-submitted material. Each line states what was checked, what the result was, the source consulted, and when.

Every line carries one of four labels:

LabelMeaning
VerifiedA source supported the claim on the date shown.
FlaggedA source returned something that contradicts a claim or warrants review.
UnavailableA source could not be reached, or the subject falls outside its coverage.
PendingThe check has not finished, or is waiting on founder input.

2. What evifound output is not

evifound output is not:

  • investment, legal, tax, accounting or regulatory advice;
  • a credit score, risk score, rating or recommendation;
  • a consumer report, and it must not be used for consumer-eligibility decisions (see Not a Consumer Report);
  • a criminal-record certificate or a substitute for a formal police check;
  • a guarantee of a person's honesty, competence, solvency or future conduct.

⚠ Nothing in a report should be read as a statement that a person has, or has not, committed any offence.

3. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • any source is complete, current or free of error;
  • every relevant record exists in a source we can reach;
  • the service will be uninterrupted or free of defects.

We do not see, use, or share your private data. This means we do not access, use, or disclose personal data for any purpose beyond running the verification you requested — no secondary use, no data broking, no marketing to founders, no training of general-purpose AI models, no sharing with third parties except the sub-processors needed to deliver the service and authorities where law requires it. See the Privacy Policy.

4. Source coverage and its limits

Public registers differ enormously between countries. Some jurisdictions publish company officers, insolvency, sanctions and court data openly; many do not. Where coverage does not extend to a subject — or where local law prohibits a private party from running a category of check, in which case we do not run it — we mark the line Unavailable rather than reporting a clear result.

A source outage is never reported as "nothing found". Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Evifound does not generate, create, or originate any data. All verification data is retrieved from independent third-party data providers, official registers, and public sources. We aggregate and present what those sources return; we do not control their content, coverage, or accuracy. No guarantee is given that any source is complete, current, or correct. The output is evidence for your review, not a certified fact. All investment and business decisions are made at your sole discretion; Evifound accepts no responsibility for decisions taken on the basis of a report.

5. Point-in-time

Every result reflects the state of a source at the moment it was queried. Records change. A report older than a few weeks should be refreshed before it is relied upon for a decision.

6. Proper use

You agree to:

  • read each line together with its label, source and date;
  • treat Flagged lines as prompts for further enquiry, not as findings of wrongdoing;
  • give the subject a fair opportunity to respond before acting on an adverse line;
  • use the report only for the diligence purpose it was ordered for;
  • keep reports confidential and share them only with people who need them for that purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Evifound is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data or reputational harm, arising from use of the service.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
